What Is A Moisture Survey

GCI uses both electrical impedance testing as well as infrared imaging to detect anomalies which generally indicate the presence of moisture. This allows us to find trapped moisture using non-destructive techniques. Using advanced technology and our expertise in roofing and building envelope construction, GCI is able to "look" inside your roof and walls to find and track leaks and moisture entrapment's--eliminating multiple service calls by the contractor and risk of additional damage to your buildings interior and contents. And, this all done without damage to your building or disturbing interior occupants.

Why Do I Need A Moisture Survey

Accurate and thorough moisture surveys are critical to the long term health of any building.  Trapped moisture can lead to mold, poor air quality, inefficient insulation performance or even worse -- premature roof or structure failure. A GCI moisture survey will enable you to find and remove wet building materials in isolated areas versus the entire roof or walls.  This saves money, natural resources, and labor. Knowing how much, and precisely where any moisture is located within your structure allows for more surgical removal of wet materials so restorations are more cost effective and provide for a more efficient system.
